We deeply value the time and expertise that reviewers contribute to the journal and are committed to supporting an ethical, fair, and transparent review process.
Evaluation Criteria
Reviewers are expected to assess manuscripts based on the following core criteria:
1. Originality and Contribution
- Does the paper offer new insights or innovative approaches?
- Is the argument or hypothesis clearly stated and justified?
2. Relevance to Journal Scope
- Does the manuscript align with the interdisciplinary aims of Singularities?
- Does it meaningfully engage with cultural, literary, political, ecological, or digital themes?
3. Clarity and Structure
- Is the paper well-organized and logically coherent?
- Are the introduction, body, and conclusion appropriately balanced?
4. Methodology and Theoretical Grounding
- Is the methodology sound and appropriate for the research question?
- Are theoretical frameworks used consistently and effectively?
5. Use of Sources and Referencing
- Are sources current, appropriate, and properly cited (MLA 9 style)?
- Are quotations and citations integrated meaningfully into the analysis?
6. Language and Style
- Is the manuscript readable, grammatically sound, and stylistically appropriate for an academic audience?
7. Overall Recommendation
- Accept / Minor Revision / Major Revision / Reject
Each review should provide both a structured evaluation (via the review form) and a short narrative summary with constructive feedback.
Confidentiality and Ethics
All peer reviewers are expected to uphold the highest standards of professional ethics:
- Maintain confidentiality of the manuscript throughout the review process.
- Refrain from sharing, discussing, or citing any part of the manuscript with others.
- Declare any potential conflicts of interest (personal, academic, or financial).

Failure to adhere to these principles may result in removal from the reviewer database.
Reviewer Recognition Policy
Singularities values the scholarly labor of peer reviewers and offers the following forms of recognition:
- Certificate of Review issued upon request after completion of review.
- Acknowledgment in the journal website and annual issue, listing all contributing reviewers (with permission).
- Priority consideration for future publication opportunities in the journal.
- Reviewers with consistent contributions may be invited to join the Editorial Board or act as section editors for thematic issues.
To maintain transparency, reviews are internally tracked and evaluated for quality, helpfulness, and timeliness.
